Suriname ( officially the Republic of Suriname ) is a country in South America .
Suriname bordered to:

• The east by French Guyana
• The west by Guyana
• The south by Brazil
• The north by the Atlantic ocean

The capital is Paramaribo.

The native language is DUTCH but english is widely spoken. The lingua franca is “SRANAN TONGO"

The climate
Suriname boasts a tropical climate.
The temperature is between 23ºc and 32ºc.
The coldest time of the day is at 6 am( 23ºc ) and the heat can run up as high as 32ºc between 12 pm and 2 pm. After 4 pm the temperature drops slowly and at 6 pm it can be about 26ºc.

In the interior of Suriname the temperature is 2ºc lower than in the city.

Our currency is the Surinaamse dollar (SRD).

Suriname has ten different districts.
The districts are as followed:

• Marowijne
• Commewijne
• Paramaribo (in wich the capital Paramaribo is settled )
• Wanica
• Para
• Brokopondo
• Sipaliwini
• Saramacca
• Coronie
• Nickerie

Each district boasts his own tourist attractions.

• from the carribean there are direct flights
• from europe only trough the Netherlands

Surinames international airport is named after one of the country's late but greatest politicians Johan Adolf Pengel. Our airport is also known as Zanderij.

While in Suriname a must see is a monument portraying  a lifelike statue of Johan Adolf Pengel on the indepedance square along with that  of Jaggernath Lachmon, also one of Surinames loved and profound politicians.
